Hi,
I’m Henrietta and I am the wife to a creative visionary and artist. I am also a modern African mama bear of 3 amazing children, living the American dream.
As a Sales and Marketing gal in the hotel industry, I navigated my way through the world of corporate Luxury Hospitality and Tourism in New York, Washington DC, Texas, Bermuda, and the likes while crushing my sales goals, traveling, attending countless receptions, conventions, and spectacular events. Let’s just say I fully lived my “that girl era” as the girls are calling it these days. That is… until 4 years ago, when I made the decision to hang up the good ole travel bag, patent leather CL pumps, and Tory Burch flats to spend more time making new unforgettable memories with my family.
These days, I am a potty training, daily rhythm creating, intentional living practicing, family culture making mama by day and a quick meal expert and debt slaying fairy by night. Most importantly, I’m “my sweet” and “Mama”, the two most important roles of my life.
I created A Colorful Nest as a community for women passionate about embracing the fullness of life through the 4Fs – Family, Fun, Food and Finances. Here, we are obsessed with:
- Nurturing our family; our hearts, our spaces, and our places.
- Creating life giving memories and cultivating our story through timeless traditions.
- Nourishing the bodies, minds, and souls of our tribe during the changing seasons of life.
- Changing our family tree and leaving a lasting legacy through the pursuit of debt free living.
Over the years I have come to realize that my true passion lies in empowering people, especially women (and perhaps mistakenly a few ex-boyfriends…lol) to live their best life striving for grace and self-compassion over perfection. I love learning but also sharing my knowledge and experiences on all things, heart, and home. I aim to live and love abundantly, giving and sharing where I can.
I hope that as you explore my blog, that our family’s journey and adventures, stories, and tips, will inspire you, bring you joy, and give you hope when your days are not so sunny.
They say the love of family is life’s greatest gift and I am happy to have the privilege of sharing mine with you.
My Best,
